Biography
The history of Chainsmokers duo begins in 2012 when two DJ’s Pall and Rhett Bixler decided to make a band together. However, Bixler left this duo soon and opened a spot for Taggart, introduced to Pall by Adam Alpert (the manager of the duo). They did their first live performances in 2013-2014. The single #Selfie was picked up by Dim Mak Records and brought them success. They became famous in 2014.
First EP Bouquet included “New York City”, “Until You Were Gone”, “Roses” and others. They have worked with some famous singers such as Charlee from Sweden and Daya.
In 2016 they took part at Ultra Music Festival and pronounced themselves against Donald Trump.
Their next single “Closer” jumped to the first place in United States and UK and broke through charts in 11 countries. This track was also performed at the MTV VMAs. However, this time “Closer” was smashed by critics. Even Taggart underlined in his interview later that “it sounded” like shit.
The duo still continues to work together and let’s hope they will do more good tracks on the future. They describes its style like mix of dance music, hip-hop, indie and pop.
They were influenced by Pharrell Williams and DeadMau5 according to their own words.
