Biography

As we have previously mentioned, 2007 was a very important for Jason Isbell as he decides to leave Drive-By Truckers to start his solo career. He had already honed his songwriting skills during his Truckers career and released his solo debut Sirens of the Ditch in 2007.

In 2008, he released another album with the 400 Unit. It is to say that his style changed significantly since he left the Truckers as he was relying more on sad and melancholic country ballads.

In 2010, musician decides to make a pause in the career as he had performed more than 200 shows in a couple of years. He goes back to Alabama. It is to say that his native town was significantly touched by the financial and economic crisis. Influenced by what he has seen, Isbell writes here some sad songs about local characters, populating the area. This work resulted in a new album, appeared in 2011 (here We Rest). Next year he released his lie set Live from Alabama.

In 2013, Jason released his another album Southeastern which had great success and brought him even more fans. Next year he issues his Live at Austin City Limits. This was a video release of playing for the long-running PBS music series.

In 2015, Isbell releases his next Something More Than Free album. The artist is going to support this album during his 2017 tour.
