Biography

Peter Hernandez was born in 1985 in Honolulu. His father was a percussionist from Brooklyn and his mother was a singer. Artist grew in an artistic atmosphere and started to show his talents early. As he commented later, he had always a guitar, a piano and a drum set and was never trained to play those instruments.

Bruno Mars attended Roosevelt High School. Here he created a band called School boys. He overcame very soon a fear of stage and felt here as a fish in a water. Later, when he graduated from school, he decided to move to Los Angeles and continue there his musical career.

He met Philip Lawrence there, a man who helped him to compose his material. However, his first experience was unsuccessful as a record label wanted their song to be performed by other artist. Bruno Mars had to agree to sell his work.

In the beginning of 2000s, Bruno was writing songs to several artist. However, his dream was to perform his songs on his own. It took him about ten years to breakthrough as a singer with “Nothin’ on You” hit. This one reached number one on the Billboard and Bruno Mars became a popular performer since.

Mars released his first single “Just the Way You Are” the same 2010 year. This one was also a hit and put singer on the top of Billboard again. First album received Grammy Award. And this was the beginning only. Later he released another album “Unorthodox Jukebox” (2012) with several hit singles. This album was commercially successful as well.

Then he started to cooperate with another talented person – Mark Ronson and they have released together their “Uptown Funk” from Mark’s latest “Uptown Special” album. In 2013 he was invited to participate in a half-time entertainment of Super Bowl.
